Administration & Clerical

Administration and clerical jobs are vital for the operation of any cruise or excursion. Involved in creating, filing and managing paperwork and documentation as well as handling guest expectations and crewmember welfare, those working in office roles upon a ship are important assets. The job roles incorporated within this vast category include:

Human Resources Manager, Human Resources Administrator, Training and Development Manager, Crew Administrator, Guest Relations Administrator, Crew and Guest Welfare Administrators and Assistants, Executive Assistant, Receptionist, IT Manager and Administrator

Each role is integral to the smooth running of the cruise ship’s operations, offering support to a variety of other roles within the ship’s hierarchy. Administration and clerical staff create and monitor documents and paperwork, manage the payroll, keep rotas, take care of crewmember welfare, liaise between guests and crew and keep an eye on inventories and guest accounts. They might also manage the ship’s IT systems and offer backup support to technicians. As with a hotel or resort, it’s the office and administration staff members who keep things moving and ensure all protocols are followed.

Requirements

If you’re interested in an administration or clerical role on a cruise ship, then there’s a strong chance that you’ll have held a similar job before.
